Privacy Policy
On-device processing
PastCam captures and converts media locally. It does not upload your media to a PastCam server, and PastCam does not operate user accounts or a cloud media library.
Items in the in-app Gallery are stored in the app’s local Documents directory. Depending on your Apple backup settings, iOS may include this local Gallery in an iCloud or computer backup. PastCam does not initiate or control those system backups.
Deleting an item in PastCam removes its local Gallery copy. Removing the app removes its local app data; copies that already exist in a system backup are governed by your Apple backup settings and retention. Copies saved to Photos are managed by you in Apple’s Photos app and may sync if you have enabled an Apple photo-syncing service.
Permissions
- Camera: used to capture photos and videos.
- Microphone: requested when you first try to record a video and used while recording to capture its audio. If you do not grant access, you can still take photos and record video without sound. PastCam does not upload microphone audio; a recorded video may leave your device only through a system backup, an Apple sync service you enable, or when you choose to share it.
- Photos: used when you choose media to convert or save a result.
You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit. PastCam receives entitlement status needed to unlock features, but does not receive or store your payment-card details. Apple’s handling of purchase data is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.
Analytics, advertising, and tracking
PastCam contains no advertising SDK, third-party analytics SDK, or cross-app tracking technology. PastCam does not sell or share personal data.
Children’s privacy
PastCam does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. Support correspondence is handled as described below. A parent or guardian may contact us to request deletion of a child’s support correspondence.
Support correspondence
If you email PastCam, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message, and attachments. We use it only to answer your request. Do not send private media unless it is needed and you choose to do so.
We retain support correspondence only as long as reasonably needed to respond and meet applicable legal obligations. You may ask us to delete it by emailing mail@pastcams.com; information may be retained where legally required.
Changes and contact
If PastCam’s data practices change, this page and the App Store privacy disclosure will be updated before the new practice is introduced.
